October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.   October 15th has been pegged as a day of remembrance.   as a volunteer photographer and area coordinator working with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, i have had the privilege to capture for parents the only photographs they will have of their babies.  CNN included the Mosquera family in their story.  Maria Ceclia emailed me soon after receiving her images:

We received the USB drive with the photos you took of our baby boy, Mattias, on July 9th.  A million thank you’s would not be enough for this amazing gift you have shared with us.  The package arrived today, on his actual “due date,” which makes it even more meaningful.  Thank you for sharing so, so, so many photos with us; I will treasure each and every one!  That day, I didn’t actually get to see much of what you managed to capture, as my view from the operating table was limited.  Through your images, you have shared with me minutes of his very short life that I didn’t get to share before.  And thank you for capturing his little hands, feet, ears, hair, everything about him.  I didn’t have enough time to enjoy each little part of him.  Now, I feel like I’ve been granted an eternity of enjoying each little, precious part of him through your photos.  They are so beautiful.  We will also be eternally grateful to have a photo of all four of us as a family.  You are amazing for sharing this unbelievable gift with us.  Many, many, many thanks.
With deeply heartfelt gratitude,
Maria Cecilia, Misha, Natalia, and Mattias
